BMW had the same thought process for the M5 Touring launch. They knew it had to be somewhere that would turn heads—a must-see event for not just top media and auto VIPs, but anyone who loves a good spectacle. Just a few days before the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, on the iconic greens leading to the reviewing stand at the Lodge at Pebble Beach, the All-New BMW M5 Touring rolled in. With a parade of all six previous M5 generations leading the way, BMW M CEO Frank van Meel debuted the striking M5.
Not long ago, we got our first look at the new BMW M5. Now, with the BMW M5 Touring, you get race-bred performance with a new level of utility. While the M5 has been offered as a Touring model in the past, in the mid-1990s and again in the mid-2000s, the 2025 M5 Touring is the first available to style and auto enthusiasts in North America. As it took the stage, its bold design was front and center. Under the hood, the M Hybrid drivetrain delivers an exhilarating 717 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, offering intoxicating performance on the road, and knowing that you’re always track-ready is just fabulous. We know the chances of actually hitting the track are slim, but having that capability is so empowering.
For everyday city driving, the plug-in hybrid powertrain offers almost silent and locally emission-free cruising, with an estimated range of up to 25 miles on a full charge.
Six generations of the BMW M5
Yes, it’s fast and powerful, but the BMW M5 Touring stands out with its distinctive character. The stretched roofline, complete with a roof spoiler, tapers beautifully at the rear, creating striking shoulders accentuated by bold wheel arches. The character line above the flush door handles extends to the rear lights, adding sophistication to the silhouette. Body-colored side skirts complete the muscular look at the road’s edge, with a light-refracting edge that emphasizes its slim, athletic stance. The low-slung body, combined with front and rear aprons, highlights the Touring’s commanding proportions, while the aerodynamically optimized M exterior mirror caps in high-gloss Black provide the finishing touch.
From the front, there’s no mistaking the M5 Touring. The newly designed BMW M kidney grille, with the iconic “M5” badge on the horizontal double-bar, is a standout. Inside, the cockpit is designed for a focused, performance-driven experience. The M-specific operating system lets you fine-tune the vehicle setup to your preferences, while the interior boasts an exclusive, premium atmosphere. Modern design elements, high-quality materials, and luxurious equipment combine with a versatile interior space, making the M5 Touring the perfect blend of sports-car flair and practicality. There’s plenty of room for road trip luggage, too, with impressive flexibility to match.
The latest M leather steering wheel offers multifunction buttons, two programmable M buttons, and gearshift paddles that give you that authentic racing-car feel. The control panel on the center console features the bold red start/stop button, a newly designed gear selector toggle, the BMW iDrive Controller, audio system roller control, and M-specific buttons for setup options. The iDrive Controller, outlined with the M logo, and the Black high-gloss gear selector toggle, accented in Dark Silver, add the perfect touch of style and functionality.
BMW also gives you options for the interior, with the standard M Multifunction Seats available in four shades of Extended Merino Leather: Black, Silverstone/Black bi-color, Red/Black bi-color, and Kyalami Orange/Black bi-color. Starting in Spring 2025, you can opt for BMW Individual Full Merino Metallic leather in a unique Black/Dark Violet bi-color or Taupe Grey/Deep Lagoon bi-color. This exclusive finish creates a striking effect in the head and shoulder areas, adding a technical, luxurious vibe. Thanks to High-Definition-Design, a refinement process BMW is the first to use, these surfaces change their appearance with the light, adding even more sophistication.
