Taste The Stars

In Executive Class, the carefully selected wine selection complements the Portuguese-inspired dining offerings. From the first course forward I enjoyed Portuguese wines with each course, ending with a deep and rich Port served with a selection of hard and soft Portuguese cheeses. The welcoming service, while never rushed, was efficiently paced to allow for a quiet night flight to Lisbon and extended dining during my wine-tasting, movie-watching day flight return. Under the direction of TAP’s cuisine consultant Vitor Sobral, The “Taste the Stars’ program will bring the flavors of Portuguese cuisine to in-flight meals with creations by Michelin-starred and acclaimed chefs including Henrique Sa Pessoa, Jose Avillez, Miguel Laffan, Rui Paula, Rui Silvestre, and New York-based Portuguese American chef George Mendes. These chefs, and a handful of rising stars, will make the dining options on TAP Air Portugal an exceptional experience.

Tap Air Portugal's Premium Lounge

To be honest my wine tasting started in TAP Air Portugal’s Premium Lounge at the Lisbon airport. The appealing array of Portuguese small-bites offered in this light-filled, colorfully futuristic lounge could only be enjoyed with the flavors of local wines. While in the Premium Lounge, the trays of pastel de nata, the country’s famed egg tarts, made me nostalgic for my day of discovery, hill climbing and sightseeing in Lisbon, and my few days in the quaint and colorful seaside town of Cascais.
