Miuccia Prada’s latest Miu Miu collection showcased a blend of maximalist, cool, grandma-chic vibes with a modern twist, featuring an array of clothing suitable for costuming at any age. The collection included little knit cardigans, scrunched-up coat sleeves with gloves, skirt suits, and dresses inspired by the codes of the little black dress and maid uniforms. The micro miniskirt trend was replaced by knee-length skirts with painterly flower prints and voluminous bubble hems, signaling a shift towards a quirky cool-girl aesthetic that prioritizes personal style over objectification.
The runway show featured a diverse cast, including celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Ethel Cain, Amelia Gray, Little Simz, and Kristin Scott Thomas. Notably, the inclusion of older models like Kristin Scott Thomas highlighted a move towards celebrating women in their later years.
Colorful combinations of bold oranges, cobalt blues, mint greens, mustard yellows, Kelly greens, and chocolate browns brought a playful yet sophisticated edge to the collection.
