Gucci Cruise 2025

A Return To London

Creative Director Sabato De Sarno’s inaugural Gucci Cruise collection pays homage to the brand’s origins, drawing inspiration from founder Guccio Gucci’s 1899 encounter at London’s Savoy Hotel, where the vision of a luxury leather goods company was born, marking a distinguished starting point for the collection. Among the luminaries gracing London’s Tate Modern were Lee Know from Stray Kids, Dua Lipa, Solange, Kate Moss and her daughter Lila, Alexa Chung, Arca, Little Simz, Debbie Harry, Nikolai von Bismarck, Park Gyu-young, Alia Bhatt, Demi Moore, Law Roach, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Andrew Scott, Salma Hayek, François-Henri Pinault, Sabine Getty, Daphne Guinness, Derek Blasberg, Elizabeth Saltzman, and Mustafa the Poet. De Sarno’s sartorial nods to London mods with loose hair, oversized menswear-inspired patchwork jeans, ’70s chic oversized sunglasses, and updated Gucci retro handbags resonate with Burberry’s enduring influence on the city’s fashion identity

Exclusive Chic

The inclusion of ‘Docs‘ heavy-soled creepers bearing Gucci badging adds a punk edge, juxtaposing with feminine pussy bow and Jane Birkin-inspired elements. Wool check coats and suede jackets exuded sophistication, while tunic blouses served as versatile canvases for a recurring flower motif. Daisy embellished denim added a whimsical touch and pastel floaty fishtail dresses exuded feminine grace. Boldly pairing heavy leather jackets with delicate dresses created a captivating contrast. Each piece in this collection balanced timeless elegance with a hint of experimentation, embodying the essence of Gucci’s forward-thinking ethos.

Styles The New It Girl

The presence of ballet flats, traditionally an unflattering silhouette, threatens to disrupt the show’s Saint Tropez vibes and the boho ease the clothing strives to convey.

He is departing from the bold, attention-grabbing styles of his predecessor, De Sarno courts a new generation of ‘It‘ girls who value effortless chic, high-quality craftsmanship, and unique flourishes, epitomized by micro shorts, pea coats, exposed bralettes, baggy jeans, and delicate fringe, embodying an ethos of stylish and exclusive allure.

Moreover, the collection’s juxtaposition of pleated airy gowns with oversized leather bombers achieves an intriguing harmony between daytime and eveningwear, underscoring the deliberate fusion of formal sophistication with casual edge that defines the designer’s vision.

In a departure from headline-grabbing radical designs, Creative Director Sabato De Sarno’s inaugural Gucci Cruise collection embodies an understanding of captivating the chic ‘It‘ girls through craftsmanship, quality, and ease, suggesting a nuanced grasp of what truly resonates with these invaluable trendsetters and customers.
