We were very lucky to have had the opportunity to attend a tasting of multi-award-winning Casa Dragones Tequila at Casa Dragones in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The tasting took place at one of the original stables for the elite cavalry Los Dragones of San Miguel which is now the spiritual home of the brand. We sipped and savored Casa Dragones Joven, their master blend tequila. Joven is rested in oak barrels for five years. This platinum-hued liquor is full-bodied and crafted to highlight the delicate nuanced flavors and aromas of their small batch production. Tequila is a cherished spirit that can only be produced in Mexico and science, technology, and the purest ingredients are utilized and selected with great care to produce Casa Dragones Joven and Casa Dragones Blanco. Each Tequila is smooth, crisp, warm, and multi-faceted. Joven Tequila is best enjoyed sipped in its purest form or paired with savory or sweet dishes. Blanco, a 100% pure Blue Agave Silver Tequila is full-body, bright, and delightful on the rocks or in a signature cocktail.
Casa Dragones Tequilas are ever so elegant. Each comes in a perfectly tailored cerulean blue box and the handcrafted, hand-engraved and hand-signed crystal Casa Dragones Joven bottles, are stately and stunning.
In San Miguel de Allende you can also visit the beautifully appointed and designed World’s Tiniest Tequila Bar at the Doce 18 Concept House, open by appointment only. It is a fascinating place to learn about the craft of tequila making and the history of the Dragones. Casa Dragones was founded in 2009 by media mogul Bob Pittman and ‘Maestra Tequilera’ Bertha Gonzalez Nieves, and has won numerous awards for excellence. Casa Dragones.
