When I got the text from UnnamedProject’s auto team asking me to go to Detroit to see the latest from Cadillac, I packed my fall Burberry and booked that Delta 321Neo out of LAX, and was on my way.
Cadillac is shifting gears towards an all-electric future, joining the wave of luxury automakers committing to go fully electric by 2030. Leading the charge is their sleek Lyriq, followed by the exclusive Celestiq flagship and the modern Escalade IQ
Now making its debut is the Optiq, Cadillac’s entry-level electric vehicle designed for the next generation of drivers. Our recent exclusive preview of the Optiq in Detroit showcased its youthful appeal. While specific details on performance were not disclosed, it’s evident that the Optiq is tailored to the younger – and young-at-heart demographic. Drawing inspiration from the larger Lyriq, the Optiq boasts a similar aesthetic, and its interior embraces sustainability with materials that echo the luxury feel of the Lyriq.
Cadillac remains tight-lipped about Optiq specifics at present. We hear additional details, features, and pricing will be revealed early next year.
