Amid another fantastic evening in Palm Springs, we were on hand to see an exciting reveal. Most of the guests had an idea of what was to come yet they had no idea that something next level was about to happen. Off come the wraps and a bi-turbo V8 powered 630 hp luxury SUV stands proudly. With 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph, this 3-rows of style is also track-ready.
Palm Springs, the perfect road trip destination from LA and beyond, is the ideal city to show the new BMW ALPINA XB7. When the wraps came off we noted that the contemporary front styling was bolder than bold. The modified light design, with horizontally-separated twin headlights, frames the grille with aggression. The glow of the illuminated kidney grille adds a fresh design accent. BMW calls this a waterfall of light, which can also be activated when driving. We love that it draws even more attention to the trademark BMW kidney grille and gives the XB7 that powerful “don’t even” appearance.
For 2023, the BMW ALPINA XB7 has all kinds of updates, including a new generation engine, an even sharper, more progressive design, and advancements in driving assistance and connectivity. The new ALPINA 4.4-liter V8 with BMW mild-hybrid technology now produces 630 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, placing the XB7 firmly among the highest performing Sports Activity Vehicles in the world.
The large curved display allows the digital instrument panel and the central control display to merge into one unit. The gauges of the digital instrument panel are in the iconic ALPINA Blue. In SPORT and SPORT+ modes, ALPINA green drag indicators provide a design accent.
The interior features an iDrive controller with the ALPINA design, blue illuminated gear selector, ALPINA production plaque, illuminated ALPINA door sills, and the unique ALPINA Sport Steering Wheel hand-finished in the finest LAVALINA leather and featuring trademark Blue/Green stitching and more. XB7 ordering is open now and the first deliveries are scheduled for early to mid-2023.
