Infiniti has always been known for its standout design and fantastic technology coupled with great driving dynamics that give owners the experience of pure joy behind the wheel. In the new QX55, all those great characteristics have been elevated to match levels found in the best autos coming from Germany and England.
Starting at the signature double-arch grille flanked by standard LED headlights the Qx55 is stunning in design and its fashion-forward silhouette showcases modern Japanese-inspired artistry. Japanese minimalism continues in the rear with an uncluttered liftgate with digital “piano key” taillights combine 45 separate LEDs in a single housing to create an elegant light signature.
Once inside the magic goes on with a dual-screen, InTouch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility, and you will love the multiple USB inputs for Android Auto compatibility and charging. The upper 8-inch and lower 7-inch high-resolution screens kept in the modern trend but it was our available Bose audio system with 16 speakers that was showcasing our old school RUN DMC and Loretta Lynn playlists. With leather appointments and a sliding second-row that gives us flexible cargo capacity, we had room to spear after our Home Depot shopping spree.
From a very impressive ProASSIST Package with standard features such as Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, Blind Spot Intervention, and Lane Departure Prevention. Our test car had the ProACTIVE Package that included Traffic Sign Recognition; Direct Adaptive Steering; and a Head-up Display; and goes even further with the innovative ProPILOT Assist system that supports the driver with Steering Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control with full speed range, stop and hold – all exceptional.
The QX55 does signal an exciting new era for Infiniti and this is just the start of this brand’s forward-thinking shake-up.
