This generation of the Infiniti Q50 is not new from the ground up but it doesn’t have to be redressed to impress. On a recent road trip, to meet my girlfriend’s parents, my chariot was a 2021 Slate Gray Q50 Red Sport 400 with a Black Matte Carbon Fiber interior trim and black exterior trim.
This 400 horsepower twin-turbocharged powered Red Sport with all-wheel drive is a performance driver’s dream. The exclusive interior and exterior appointments clearly announce the arrival of something special and I hope that the recognition will extend beyond this car when I meet the inlaws.
While the signature double-arch grille, twin exhausts, and 19-inch wheels are handsome showstoppers the Q50’s aggressive stance brings exceptional performance, better handling, and traction on cornering and hard acceleration on country roads and highways alike.
The design team at Infiniti also incorporated the performance-inspired design of the outside to the interior cabin with quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, aluminum-accented pedals, unique red contrast stitching, unique Black Matte Carbon interior accents, exclusive dark metallic dynamic tactile paddle shifters, black mirrors, exclusive exhaust tips, sport brakes with red-painted calipers. The specs get better and include a Bose® Performance Series Audio 16-speaker stereo with Bose® Centerpoint® simulated surround, driver’s seat power lumbar, and enhanced ambient lighting making the 2021 RED SPORT 400 a true drivers car, and a leading performance sedan. Q50 RED SPORT 400.
