It was in 1989, on a cold February morning at Chicago’s fabulous Drake Hotel, that the world first saw the Acura NSX. Today, as we tool around our eye-catching Indy yellow pearl Acura NSX the fantasy Continues of this supercar perpetuates.
There was a time not long ago that a true supercar could only be built and designed in Italy. The supercars of yesterday were designed to be driven only on weekends and to standing weekly lunch dates at the Ivy. The supercar has evolved ad there are many fine examples from England and even the US. In this supercar world where owners truly enjoy the best life offers, the Acura NSX has found a nitch that makes this machine the envy of all who catch a glimpse of it zooming by. First, the NSX is a true daily driver’s supercar. Surely saving it for the weekends is ok but why keep this handcrafted work of art and power at bay.
Powered by a Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® power unit consisting of a twin-turbocharged mid-mounted V6 engine paired with a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission is just the start of the engine technology, you also have an electric direct drive motor integrated with the engine, and 9DCT supplements the engine with instantaneous electric torque. Containing two additional electric motors, the front-mounted Twin Motor Unit continuously varies torque—both positive and negative—to the left and right front wheels to enhance handling precision and cornering capabilities, allowing the elevate of both my blood pressure and my driving confidence.
Inside you will find NSX’s Integrated Dynamics System, with Quiet, Sport, Sport+, and Track modes each bringing an expansive range of driving experiences. Quiet mode is perfect for sneaking out of the drive for an early morning gym session.
From the front air intake to the rear bumper and that carbon Fiber Decklid Spoiler to a pilot in command cockpit with sports seats, wrapped in Milano leather and the luxury of Alcantara the NSX is made to drive and to grab admiration.
