Hermes SS Men 2025

l’art de vivre

At the idyllic Jardin des Tuileries, Hermès unveiled its Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection with a show that radiated serene sophistication. Set against a backdrop of lush greenery and tranquil pond reflections, the atmosphere was perfect for the theme of l’art de vivre, or “the art of living,” which inspired the collection. A-list celebrities, including Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, and singer Stromae, filled the front row, adding to the event’s allure. Under the creative direction of Véronique Nichanian, the collection embraced the seaside spirit, embodying a sense of “lightness, peace, and softness.” Her vision infused every detail on the runway, transforming beachwear into luxurious yet relaxed garments that felt perfectly at home with Hermès’ world of understated elegance.

Models walked with a relaxed, scuffed gait in strappy leather sandals and wide-leg trousers cropped above the ankles, embracing an aura of effortless nonchalance. Their biceps peeked through zip-front sleeveless leather jackets, and they carried the most sophisticated “beach” bags.

Understated Verve

Nichanian’s collection embodied an elevated take on beachwear, crafted in Hermès-level materials without losing the relaxed spirit of seaside clothing. A supple lavender leather button-down, accompanied by a matching neckerchief, epitomized this approach, flowing with a softness akin to silk. Details like unbuttoned shirts, necklines of tank tops scooped just so, to reveal a hint of chest, and high-water pants showcased ankles illustrated Nichanian’s gift for creating clothes with a sense of gentle languor.

There were playful touches throughout, with traditional suiting giving way to jackets adorned in naive floral prints—reminiscent of carefree doodles—or with lapels that softened the formal silhouette. The collection also featured a sheer jacket recalling a similar risqué design from a year prior that had captivated the fashion world. Another standout was a voile shirt with unfinished seams, allowing the back panel to catch the breeze in an elegant dance as models circled the runway.

In a nod to the collection’s beach theme, a few models sported tattoo motifs—swirling, playful designs styled like a harness—that appeared on exposed skin, adding an unexpected visual element. These tattoo-inspired motifs echoed patterns found on tank tops, camp-shirt sets, and unbuttoned button-downs with pleated pants, blurring the line between skin and garment.

For those seeking a more grounded elegance, Nichanian included the roomy blouson jackets and airy silhouettes that have become a hallmark of her work. The collection captured a perfect balance between refinement and relaxed ease—a feat achieved through Hermès’ meticulous attention to material and craft. Through elevated seaside motifs and luxurious fabrics, Hermès redefined summer style with an unmistakable lightness, blending sophistication with the warmth of the beach. Hermes.
