This past summer at Gurney’s Montauk, we took in the beach vibes and chatted with the owner of a Maserati MC20 Cielo about his stunning supercar. During the conversation, he revealed his new daily drive – a Rivian R1S. Curious about his choice, we asked why, and he explained that, for him, it all came down to the design and the fact that this electric, three-row SUV has an 410-miles plus of range was just the icing on the cake.

That was all we needed to hear before reaching out to Rivian to test-drive the Gen 2 R1S ourselves. It had been a while since our last encounter, and we wanted to see if the hype held up—and it did.
