A model-specific version of the M Hybrid system gives the new BMW M5 a maximum system output of 717 hp, thanks to its high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. Let that sink in—717 hp, delivering 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 190 mph when equipped with the M Driver’s Package.
Like all BMW M cars, this one is immediately recognizable, and thanks to its M-specific design, you know this is a high-performance supercar sports sedan. The front and rear wheel arches have been completely redesigned for the M5, eliminating the need for additional flares to accommodate its sleek, wider tires. The hunkered-down body, combined with front and rear aprons extending downward, accentuates the M5’s bold and imposing proportions.
The new BMW M5 commands attention from the rear with its muscular stance, further emphasized by the vertical reflectors at the outer edges. The generously sized surfaces give the rear a bold, monolithic appearance, while the M rear spoiler and the aggressive diffuser with the signature M twin exhaust tailpipes complete the look. An Evolution Towards Perfection
The programmable M buttons above the horizontal spokes are trapezoidal, echoing the contours of the M-specific displays. They are finished in M Red metallic and illuminate at night, adding a touch of sophistication and functionality. The gearshift paddles on the steering wheel also feature a new design. Their surfaces are finished in high-gloss black, with cut-out plus and minus symbols outlined in red. The left-hand paddle is marked BOOST when the optional M Drive Professional is fitted.
